Meet Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC’s newest Sales And Leasing Consultants

We try to make sure that our customers are as comfortable around our staff as they are their own family. That being said, we’d like to take a couple minutes to introduce our three newest Sales And Leasing Consultants!

Christopher Angeloff

Christopher Angeloff, Sales And Leasing Consultant at Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC

My name is Christopher Angeloff. I’ve been with Sweeney for a little over 2 years, but have been in the Auto industry for more than 6. I live in Youngstown and am a graduate of Chaney HS and currently attend YSU working towards my Bachelor’s Degree. I don’t have any kids in the traditional sense, but I do have two rescued dogs: Bubba, a 6 year old German Shepherd Mix and Lucy, a 3 year old Pit bull mix. In my freetime I enjoy my friends and family, working out, golfing and bowling. I also love any time of yard game, cooking/grilling and being outdoors. I’m a very non-pressure salesman. I try to listen and understand my customer’s needs to suggest a possible fit to his/her needs. I rely on repeat and referral business and love my loyal customers!

One of Chris’ most recent customers had this to say about his experience leasing a new Malibu from him:

I came in off of a mailer I received, which I thought was a little fishy since I was already driving a leased Malibu. I talked to Chris Angeloff and he took time and patience to work with me and get me into a new loaded Malibu for the same price! I don’t know but it was easy, smooth and beneficial! Same price for heated leather seats! I will definitely be back!

Andrew Apinis

Apinis

My name is Andrew Apinis. I’m new to Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC but have been in sales for quite some time now. Growing up, I attended and graduated from South Range High School and NPTI. I currently reside in Boardman, Ohio. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my significant other Chelsea and my 2.5 year old twins Ava and Aza. I also enjoy watching sports, particularly the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Jets.

Take a look at what a Cassandra H. of Warren had to say about working with Andrew:

I recently purchased a new Buick Lacrosse from Sweeney’s in Boardman, my salesman Andrew was very helpful, low pressure, and had great product knowledge. I would definitely recommend them to anyone, and will be a future customer again for sure.

Tom Jones Jr.

Jones

Hello! My name is Tom Jones Jr, I’ve been at Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC for about a month but have been around the automotive industry my entire life. My dad owns a used car dealership in North Lima. Currently, I live in Austintown, Ohio but am a graduate of Ursuline High School. In my spare time I love to hang out with my friends and family.

Here’s what Thomas B of Youngstown had to say about buying his Buick Lacrosse from Tom:

Me and my husband recently bough a 2013 buick lacrosse at sweeney buick. Our sales person was tommy jones, he was very helpful in helping us select a car that fit our needs and everything we wanted. The customer service was excellent and that is most important. Great and easy experience, we enjoyed working with tommy and will refer anyone I know to him.

We’ve all had to deal with lost keys, but with these apps you’ll never have to worry about that again.

One of the most obnoxious things about being a car owner is having to deal with lost keys and no matter how high tech you are, until all cars catch up to the technology of the Chevrolet Volt we’re at the mercy of remembering where we put our keys. The Volt not only has a key fob and a start button, but it also has a mobile app that lets you lock, unlock and check the charge of level. However, unless you enjoy checking all of your pockets, your shoes, your bathroom and garage 50 times trying to remember where you put them, there’s hope! Check out these great technologies that will help you find them.

Zomm: All you need is a smartphone and a keychain. This lets your track anything that you put the keychain on. When you lose your keys all you have to do is give Zomm a call from your smartphone. When you do this, the keychain its attached to will begin sounding an alert and cast a blue light until you figure out what pile of clothes you buried them under. Other cool features of Zomm include being able to use it as a panic alarm and the fact that it doubles as a speaker for hands-free talking.

The Zomm tag will help you find your lost keys. Shown here in pink, its also available in other colors.

Cobra Tag: Like Zomm, the Cobra Tag works with your cell phone to locate your lost keys. The fob will beep when your smart phone is within 100 feet of the fob. When your further away than that it shows up on your phone’s GPS system. What makes Cobra Tag awesome is that you can use it in reverse to find your phone!

The Cobra Tag, shown here will show you where your lost keys are on your smart phone.

Stick-N-Find Bluetooth Sticker: The bluetooth sticker locates keys within 100 feet, but when you’re further away it will send you a notification to let you know you’re close. Consider it like a game of marco polo. Our favorite feature of this set is that it will let you know when you’re getting further away from whatever its stuck to, like in the event you dropped your keys.

The Stick-N-Find Bluetooth sticker can be stuck to your keys to make sure you can find them under your piles of clothes. Lost keys are a thing of the past.

The last technology we’re going to talk about is called Bungee. It doesn’t help you find your belongings, but it is really interesting. Bungee comes with a boomerang shaped stick on tags that you stick to your phone and keys. When it goes missing whoever finds it can use the tags to notify Bungee. Bungee will then send you a text and email alerting you that your property has been found at which point you can make arrangements to get your stuff back.

The Bungee tag may not help you find your lost keys, but it will keep you safe if someone else does.

“This is what car buying should be like…”

At Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC we strive to completely satisfy each and every customer who walks through our doors. When we get reviews like this from our customers it lets us know that we’ve reached those goals. Take a look at this great review from two of our customers who came from quite a distance to buy their Preowned Chevrolet Cruze!

Being an PA resident was looking for a Chevy Cruze for my wife. We found the perfect one at Sweeney. Was quite cautious about buying a vehicle from out of state, but was very surprised that they answered all my questions about the process. Our salesman was DARYL PLANT and I must say that he got us a great deal. Even after we learned that our trade-in was not what it was suppose to be, lets just say our previous dealer was not totally upfront about the vehicle history, what a shocker. Anyway, Daryl and the rest at Sweeney took great care that we got the car at right price to get us out of what we had. I will definitely return to buy another vehicle from them and I will tell everyone to do the same. This is what car buying should be like: Straight forward and hassle free. They take great pride in that the deal isn’t just about the money, it is about a relationship between them and you.

If you have something you’d like us to know about a recent visit to Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, email [email protected] and let us know!

The 2014 Impala is STILL making waves!

The 2014 Impala passed the NTHSA test with FLYING COLORS! 5 Stars Across the board!

Since the 2014 Impala was released last month, it has been receiving nothing but positive recognition. Today, it received another award, and this one is a big one. The 2014 was awarded 5 stars by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration!

The redesigned sedan presents one of the most comprehensive collections of standard and available safety features. The 2014 Impala employs advanced technology to help avoid crashes. Using visual and audible alerts, the 2014 Impala helps you identify potential crashes and intervene when a crash is imminent. Alerts are designed to identify potential threats with sufficient warning so you can avoid the situation.

Take a look at this huge list of features!

Full speed range adaptive cruise control – radar technology senses traffic in front of the 2014 Impala to adjust your speed, including stopping your car in heavy traffic. This is the first application for any Chevrolet.
Crash imminent braking – This is another Chevrolet first. Your 2014 Impala will detect possible crashes and alert you. If you don’t react, this feature intervenes to apply the brakes to avoid the crash!
Forward collision alert – Camera technologies detect a possible crash threat and alerts you.
Lane departure warning – A camera based lane detection warns you of unsignaled lane changes. The camera identifies traffic lane markings and provides audible alerts.
Side Blind Zone Alert – Using radar on both sides of your 2014 Impala the system looks for other vehicles in your blind zone and indicates their presence with a LED light on your outside mirrors.
Rear Vision Camera with Dynamic Guidelines – Displays whats behind you in the center stack infotainment system. The camera provides a view of objects directly in your path of travel while the guidelines provide a reference that helps make parking

In addition to all of these amazing features, the advanced, crash-avoidance technologies complement the 2014 Impala’s occupant protection features, including 10 standard air bags:

  • Dual-stage frontal passenger air bags with passenger sensing system
  • Driver and front passenger side-impact air bags
  • Driver and front passenger knee air bags
  • Rear outboard side-impact air bags
  • Head curtain air bags with rollover sensing for front and rear outboard positions
  • Safety belt pretensioners
  • Child seat restraint system.

GM Lordstown’s contributions to fuel efficiency doesn’t stop at the Cruze

GM Lordstown doesn't just contribution to efficiency with the Cruze

GM Lordstown, located a short distance from our dealership here in Boardman is home of the Chevrolet Cruze…Everyone knows that. The contributions that the Cruze has made to Chevrolet’s overall fuel efficiency are undeniable. However, just recently GM Lordstown made another huge contribution to GM’s overall goal of constantly reducing their carbon footprint.

The plant is in the process of replacing all of their traditional light bulbs to LED lighting. It will also have a fully integrated wireless control system. This is General Motor’s largest conversion in North America.

The goal of the project was simple, to replace the exisiting 40 foot high bay lighting system with one that will provide the same brightness and illumination but will reduce costs and energy consumption. They will also require much less maintenance!

The project will save $800,000 by replacing 1,328 fixtures with 1,246 LED that range from 90 to 360 watts. Additionally, it will reduce energy consumption by 84% with a CO2 reduction of 8,500 metric tons. Another cost saving feature is that they will be maintenance free for 150,000 hours! Wow!

The new lighting system is equipped with a fully integrated and built in wireless control system which will allow operators to schedule lights in certain parts of the plant at different intensities to follow production schedules while allowing them to dim during breaks and between shifts.

On a much largest scale, GM is dedicated to energy efficiency and is constantly working to reduce energy by 20% by 2020. Currently GM is the largest automotive user of solar power and has already received the EPA Energy Star Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Award. This is the highest level of recognition a corporation can get.

General Motors and Honda to partner on the next generation fuel cell system!

The future of Fuel Cell technology is on its way! GM and Honda have partnered to advance the technologies.

General Motors and Honda announced a long term partnership today. The two brands will work together to develop the next-generation fuel cell system and hydrogen storage technology.

GM and Honda are both acknowledged leaders in fuel cell technology. According to the Clean Energy Patent Growth Index, GM and Honda rank No. 1 and No. 2 respectively. The main missions of the partnership will be to further advance refueling infrastructure, which is critical for the long-term viability of fuel cell vehicles. The finished project is expected to be available by 2020.

Fuel cell technology addresses many of the major challenges facing automobiles today – petroleum dependency, emissions, efficiency, range and refueling times. Fuel cell vehicles can operate on renewable hydrogen made from sources like wind and biomass…The only emission these cars leave is water vapor!

In addition, fuel cell vehicles can have up to 400 miles of driving range and can be refueled in 3 minutes.

There isn’t much information available about the nature of the partnership, however we will continue to keep you updated about the fuel cell partnership as we get more information! Until then take a look at Chevrolet’s most fuel efficient car, the Chevrolet Spark: http://www.sweeneychevrolet.com/search/new-volt/tp-md1037/

The 2014 Cruze Diesel is going to redefine what you thought you knew about Turbo Diesels!

The 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Diesel will redefine what you thought a turbo charged diesel was.

When you think off the line acceleration certain cars come to mind…The Chevrolet Cruze isn’t usually one of them. However, with the emergence of the Cruze Diesel, you can completely abandon that thought. Imagine a car quick off the line and with gas sipping efficiency. Sounds like a dream right? Believe it.

The Cruze Diesel will not only deliver the best highway fuel economy of any non-hybrid passenger car in America, but it will deliver a segment leading 151 horsepower and 264 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to overboost your Cruze Diesel will actually deliver 280 lb-ft of torque for about 10 seconds. That’s the same torque as the 1972 Camaro Z28’s 5.7L V8. However, unlike the muscle cars of the past, the Cruze Diesel will deliver 46 mpg on the highway and an estimated 717 miles to one tank of gas.

GM Diesel Assistant Chief Engineer Mike Siegrist had this to say about the Cruze Diesel’s Overboost:

Overboost provides increased performance when the driver demands it, like when passing on the highway. When the driver leans on the throttle, the turbocharger increases the air and fuel intake over and above when the engine needs for normal torque demand.

The Cruze Diesel can sprint from 0 to 60 in about 8.6 seconds, an entire half second faster than its chief competitor, the Volkswagen Jetta 2.0L TDI.

“Cruze Diesel’s engine is powerful, efficient and clean. It will change perceptions of what a diesel car can be while giving customers another fuel-efficient choice in the Chevrolet lineup.”

We’re hiring…Again!

GM Employees donate $28,500 to help tornado victims in Oklahoma

GM Lordstown donates $4,200 to benefit Oklahoma Tornado Victims

The Tornadoes in Oklahoma have devastated not only the state, but the entire country as well. When it happened, General Motors asked if any employees would like to kick in to see what could be raised. We’re pleased to write that to this date, GM Employees have donated $28,500 to help provide relief to tornado victims.

The donations will go to Detroit-Based Forgotten Harvest’s “Help 4 Oklahoma” campaign. This is a partnership that was created in partnership by Forgotten Harvest, The General Motors Foundation, Chevrolet, Art Van, WDIV Local 4, WJR News/Talk 760 and other organizations. The GM Foundation lead the campaign charge by donating $50,000 and Chevrolet followed suit by donating a 2013 Silverado to help with cleanup and restoration.

Our very own Lordstown plant is in the front of the pack in money raised! Here is the top 5 GM organizations in terms of money raised:

  1. Flint Manufacturing – $8,700
  2. Wentzville, Missouri – $4,400
  3. Lordstown, Ohio – $4,200
  4. Fairfax, Kansas – $3,700
  5. Bowling Green, Kentucky – $2,500

GM employees have also donated more than $12,000 in gift cards and have filled three 50 foot trailers with supplies. These supplies include soup, water, dog food, diapers and other necessities. There are also some teams from the Fairfax Plant that plan to travel to Oklahoma to assist with cleanup and rebuilding.

In addition to assisting victims of the Oklahoma Tornadoes, GM Employees also spent time raising funds to help victims of tornadoes that ripped through Flint, Michigan last week. While no one got injured, there were more than 100 homes and $2,500,000 in damages. Flint area GM plants have raised an additional $1,400 for this cause.

From all of us here at Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, we are proud to be part of an organization like General Motors that takes such an active role in the community.
